What is AnyBottle?
AnyBottle is a message-in-a-bottle website. You write a short letter, seal it, and the sea carries it to a stranger who may open it and write back.
Do I need an account to read a bottle?
No. Anyone can open a bottle and read the letter. Signing in with Google is only required to cast a bottle, pick one up, reply, or keep bottles on your shore.
Are the letters anonymous?
Your Google email is not printed on the letter. You choose the name that appears as the signature. The letter itself is public: anyone with the link can open that bottle.
Who can see a bottle I cast?
A bottle is a public note. The sea can hand it to a stranger, and the page that holds it can be opened by anyone who has the link.
How do I send a message in a bottle?
Open Cast a bottle, sign in with Google, write a short letter, choose a seal, and set it adrift. It joins the other bottles at sea.
How do I pick up a bottle?
Open Pick one up. Reading is open. Picking a bottle up and writing a reply requires Google sign-in.
Can I delete a letter?
If you cast the bottle, you can take it back from your shore after you sign in. You can also write through Contact or email and ask for a letter, a reply, or an account to be removed.
What language is the site in?
The site is in English and open to anyone. Letters are written by visitors.
