AnyBottle lets you read short letters, and, once you sign in with Google, cast a letter, pick one up from the sea, reply, and keep a bottle on your shore. By using the site you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

You need to be at least 13 years old. If the place you live sets a higher age for agreeing to a service like this, you need to be at least that age. The site is not for children under 13.

You keep ownership of the words you write. You give AnyBottle permission to store those words, show them to readers, and send them across the sea so the site can work. That permission lasts for as long as the letter or reply stays on the site.

• A letter you cast can be read by anyone who opens it, including people who are not signed in.
• The signature you type is public. Your email address is not shown on the letter.
• Replies are shown to people who are signed in.
• You can take back a bottle you cast from your shore. Letters that were already in the sea are part of the site and cannot be taken back by a visitor.

Write only what you are willing for a stranger to read.

You agree not to use AnyBottle to:

• break the law, or ask someone else to
• threaten, harass, or post someone else's private information
• post sexual content involving anyone under 18
• send spam, malware, or advertisements disguised as a letter
• try to break, scrape, or overload the site, or take another person's account

We may remove a letter or reply, and we may close an account, when these rules are broken. If you see something that should come down, tell us on the Contact page.

Casting, picking up a bottle, replying, and the shore require Google sign-in. You are responsible for the activity under the Google account you use. Sign out on a shared device when you are done.

The site may show advertisements from Google and other third-party partners. The letters stay separate from those ads. If you open an ad, you leave AnyBottle for the advertiser's page, and that advertiser's terms and privacy policy apply there. Cookies used for advertising are described in the Privacy Policy.

Letters are written by visitors. We do not promise that a letter is true, kind, or useful, or that the sea will hand you a particular bottle. The site can be interrupted, and a letter can be removed. AnyBottle is not professional advice of any kind.

To the extent the law allows, AnyBottle is not liable for lost letters, for what another visitor writes, or for damages arising from use of the site. Some places do not allow a limit like that. In those places, the limit applies only as far as the law allows.

We may update these terms. The new version will be posted on this page with a new date. If you keep using the site after that date, the updated terms apply.
