What this website is
People write short letters here. A letter can be a wish, a night thought, or a sentence that had nowhere else to go. Once it is cast, it drifts with the other bottles. A stranger can open it and, after signing in, write back.
The site is in English and open to anyone. The letters are written by visitors. A few bottles were already in the sea when the shore was empty, so the water would not start blank.
What you can do
- Read a letter without an account. Opening a bottle is public.
- Sign in with Google to cast a bottle, pick one up, reply, or keep a bottle on your shore.
- See the replies you have written after you are signed in. They stay with your account, on the shore.
A bottle is a public note, shared with whoever the sea hands it to. It is a letter to a stranger, and the page that holds it can be opened by anyone with the link.
Common questions about anonymity, deleting a letter, and sign-in are on the FAQ.
How the site stays up
AnyBottle may show advertisements, including ads from Google and other advertising partners. Those ads are separate from the letters. Cookies used for sign-in, and cookies used by advertising partners, are described in the Privacy Policy.
The rules for using the site are in the Terms. A question, a correction, or a request to remove something goes through Contact.
If a letter here kept you company, you can buy the person who keeps this site a coffee.
